Wade Ingram started his law enforcement career in 1980 with the Cook County Sheriff’s Department. He joined the Chicago Police Department in 1985 and worked in the patrol, gang crimes and public housing units. He achieved the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant, and watch commander at O’Hare Airport.
In 2009, he retired from the Chicago Police Department to become Chief of Police in Markham Illinois. His experience there was followed by becoming Chief of Police in Gary, Indiana from January of 2012 till July of 2014. In 2010, Chief Ingram formed Ingram Security and Detective Services, LLC. He holds both a B.A. and M.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Masters in Public Administration from Roosevelt University. He is a Graduate of Northwestern University Center for Public Safety and the FBI Academy Law Enforcement Executive Development Program in Quantico, Virginia. Chief Ingram taught criminal justice at Malcolm X College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago from 2001 to 2012.
